2018 Mystery Blogger Award: My edit …

When Ash of The Messy Life  nominated me for this award I was intrigued… the word mystery in it quirked my interest and for some reason brought up images of hocus pocus..  Not entirely sure why… just how my brain  works.

It is has now entered the 5th month I’ve started my blog. I find it so exhilarating. I have read over a few of my posts and noticed that I have done a few grammatical and spelling errors (my apologises)! I have put it on my forever expanding ‘To do’ lists; I plan on sitting at my desk with a bottle of beer and music blaring in the background unhurriedly going over my blog posts to correct these wee errors I’ve seen.

The old me would’ve been so embarrassed that my mistakes have been out there for everyone to see for so long, but the older, new me is very c’est la vie. I still want my blog to be coherent and professional but I also do not want to add any unnecessary stress to an otherwise fun activity… blogging/sharing my thoughts.

So before I proceed to my Mystery Blogger fun facts/future nominations I need to give a warm shout out to the creator of this Award; Okoto Enigma. Thank you so much for creating a way of sharing those that inspire us and make us want to be better bloggers.  I can not wait to share my 10 blogger nominations because these individuals continue to support me everyday. It is true what they say about the blogger community! Very strong and supportive.

The 3 things you may or may not know about me (I TMI a lot so there is a chance you MIGHT know some, if you know me in RL, but I haven’t shared on my blog).

  1. I have a unique accent; it is in between a Scottish, American, Educated one. Don’t ask me how that is, that is what I get told by folk!
  2. I’m adopted.
  3. I have 1 half sister (my mum adopted both of us when we were little) and 2 older brothers I have never met.

My nominees in no particular order:

Right guys! Those that have been selected please answer these questions with honesty and gusto;

  1. How would you describe your blog writing style in 3 words?
  2. Who are you writing for?
  3. What was your first milestone you achieved? (e.g. first 500 followers on instagram? or twitter?)
  4. If you could collaborate with any person or brand who would it be and why?
  5. My ‘weird questions’ is if you could have any super powers what would they be and why?

My answer’s to Ash’s questions;

  1. What inspires you to continue blogging?

In all honesty every follower I get, every engagement and support I get from folk I have never meet in RL. I love seeing people doing well and sharing their blogger milestones and goals being achieved. It is such a supportive environment to be in. And when you suffer from self doubt and anxiety to be apart of something positive is incredibly uplifting.

So to put in simply; everyone that has supported me and who shares their thoughts and goals inspires me to continue.

  1. What are your three tips for bloggers who are stuck in a rut?

Step 1: step away from your computer/laptop/tablet or wherever you blog from. Get away from it!

Step 2: do ANYTHING else. Literally anything, the anything is usually dependant on HOW much of a rut you are in. If its a little one then a toilet break could be all thats needed or if its bigger than that then take a few days away – go to the cinema/plan a wee getaway/go for a night out/go to the gym/binge watch your fave movies or netflix series and order a pizza.

Step 3: keep a wee notebook with you and jot down any snippets of thoughts you have that could potentially be a topic of discussion. We all have our own opinions or experiences in situations almost everyone has been in so see what you’ve jotted down in your notepad and type that into google to research who else has wrote about it! (Remember to always give credit!) you could either agree or disagree with what has already been said and BAM a new blog post.

  1. Describe your greatest aspiration. No matter how extravagant your dream may seem, I would love to hear about it.

To be able to eat as many pizzas, sushi, chocolate, desserts I want and never EVER gain any weight or break out in spots…..

This is honestly my genuine dream… it is a dream because it is NEVER EVER attainable… due to my metabolism and age it will forever be one of my greatest aspirations.

However, I am guessing this is not what is asked so my other dream (I have LOADS of them, they are constantly changing – like my style and also why I decided on my blogger name being Style Irregular btw 😀 ) is to be an inspiring blogger that reaches people on an global scale. I want to connect with others that are like me or give help to those that are struggling.

  1. If you had the power to change any one thing in the world, what would it be and why?

If I could change anything in the world it would be to get rid of fear. Or more like the fear that drives people to spread hate and violent acts towards others and themselves.

Some fear is necessary. Like the fear of getting burnt be a flame is justified… some fear keeps us safe!

I say fear because I think it is the most basic root of why there are so much hate and bullying out in the world. People put others down because they fear they are not enough in themselves or they project what they are scared of in themselves and put that projected hatred onto others and put others down because they are not honest with themselves.

  1. “Weird Question” What’s your favourite mythical animal?

The Phoenix.

She rises from the ashes beautiful as before and stronger. Because I believe it takes more strength and courage to rise again after burning/reaching rock bottom. It is a very hard thing to do.
